How to Get Involved

Throughout the school year, the Parents Association solicits parental involvement with fundraisers, classroom activities, or other needs. You should also always feel free to speak with your child’s teacher if you would like to be of assistance in the classroom.

Current schoolwide needs are listed below:

The PA Wants You (and Your Old Office Equipment)!

Do you have any spare office or home furnishings — in good condition — that you would consider donating to PS139Q? The Parents Association is looking for refrigerators, microwaves, file cabinets, freezers, fans, storage boxes, folding tables, folding chairs and similar items. Please consider getting an early start on your spring cleaning with a much-appreciated donation to your child’s school.

Please e-mail us to let us know what your specific donation consists of. If you could e-mail a picture too, that would be ideal! The Parents Association will then let you know if the school can use what you are offering.

Thank you in advance!

Class Parents

We are looking for Class Parents to help reinforce the home-school connection. The class Parent is a parent who will act as a liaison between the teacher and other parents in your child’s class. There can be more than one Class Parent in each class. If interested, please contact Nina Lipton, our Parent Coordinator at 347-563-4461 or nlipton@schools.nyc.gov.

Box Tops for Education

This is very simple way to help earn money for PS139 — just clip and save box tops . You’ll find them on a variety of packaged foods you already buy, everything from cereal to tissue to granola bars. The Parents Association has placed collection boxes in each classroom for this box top fundraiser.

You can also contribute directly through the Box Tops for Education site. When you visit the Web site, please be sure to choose PS139Q The Rego Park School.

Donations Needed

Please consider donating a new book or board game in your child’s name for our lunchtime activities during inclement weather. Your generosity will help P.S. 139 offer many books and games to promote student engagement.

Please contact Mrs. Marcia Oberlander, Supervisor of School Aides, for more information at 718-459-1044 or stop by the main office with your donation.
