Where can my child or I find assistance with homework?
By telephone
Dial-A-Teacher provides a telephone number that parents and kids can call to speak to a teacher.
Classroom teachers answer homework questions at 212-777-3380, Monday through Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. during the school year. They can also answer parents’ questions and give advice on how you can help your child at home. The staff speaks 12 languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese and Fukanese), English, French, Greek, Haitian-Creole, Hebrew, Italian, Korean, Russian, Slovak and Spanish.

Where can I find a tutor for my child?
Some of our local libraries offer tutoring. Ask your local librarian (The Rego Park branch of the Queens Public Library is closest) for the most up-to-date information. The Queens Library also provides online help through a program called Brain Fuse. After registering, students can access online tutoring with live tutors in major academic subjects, as well as obtain test prep help for major exams such as the NY Regents.

Currently, the playground is open until 6 p.m. daily in addition to being open on the weekends.

By what grade can students be dismissed on their own, without requiring pickup from a family member or other approved adult?
Children can walk home on their own once they are in Grade 4 as long as they have a note from their parents.
Are flu shots being given out at school this year?
There are no plans this year for flu shots.
