Your NYC Schools Account Can Now Be Set Up From Home!
Your NYC Schools account is the new system of online tools for you to look up your child’s grades, state test scores, and attendance at his or NYC public school. It also stores your family’s contact information, ensuring that the school knows how to reach you.
Registration for the NYC Schools account has been made easier. Parents can now sign up for a NYC Schools account from any Internet-connected device and access their child’s secure data.
A letter was sent home with your child that has instructions on how to set up the account. Some families may receive two letters (one for each parent), but everyone will receive one letter. You can set up with either parent as long as you use the correct code contained in the letter.
Your will also need your child’s ID number/OSIS number to set up the account. You can find the number on your child’s report card.
If you need more help, please drop by the school to see Nina Lipton, our parent coordinator. She will be available Monday through Thursday until the end of July and can assist you. You can also contact Mrs. Lipton by email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 347-563-4461 or 718-459-1044 x 1010.

Thank You for Making the P.A.’s Spring Family Dance a Success!
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with setting up, staffing the event, providing goodies for the bake sale and raffles, and with clean-up! We raised over $2,300 for the Parents Association with this event.

Parents of 5th Graders: Help Us Get Ready for Graduation!
We want to make this the best year and most memorable graduation for our graduating 5th graders. In order to do that we need parent volunteers. Please fill out and return the Senior Committee Volunteer sign up flyer to join one or more of the following committees:
- Yearbook committee – gather pictures and ideas to create the best yearbook for our graduating class.
- Senior dance committee – create a fun and exciting dance party to celebrate in June 2015. (DJ, party theme, party favors, food and drink)
- Senior dues committee – calculate and collect money for senior package (t-shirt, yearbook, panoramic picture, etc) and senior trip.
- Senior breakfast committee – organize and host breakfast for senior class to celebrate in June 2015. Senior package will be given out during breakfast celebration.
- Senior fundraising committee – to organize and raise money to help the cost of all senior activities. (ex: senior fundraising dance – March 2015)
- Senior picture day committee – assist students with cap and gown pictures in May 2015.

The Parents Association held a Mix and Mingle potluck on Monday, November 3rd. The next PA general meeting will be Tuesday, December 2nd. And most importantly: Childcare will be provided! Hope to see you then…
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Parents Association Halloween Fundraiser!
The Parents’ Association of P.S. 139Q held its Third Annual Halloween Party at P.S. 139Q on Saturday, October 25th, 2014. We raised over $3,000 for the arts programs at PS139!
There was a bake sale, carnival games, face painting and other fun Halloween games. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who decorated, ran the bake sale, oversaw the carnival games and activities, provided face painting and clean up. And thank you to Miller’s Ale House for their Famous Zinger contributions!

Every parent with a student at PS 139Q is a member of the Parents’ Association (PA). The PA raises money through membership donations, candy and picture sales. In the past these funds have helped supply classroom materials, daily planners for the children in grades 3-5, student prizes such as ice cream parties, Butterfly Kits for the Kindergarten children and educational assemblies such as Seussical. We were also able to invite authors and artists to work with our children.
To ensure that our children receive the quality education that they deserve, we are asking you to make a generous donation to PS 139Q PA. All donations will go towards PS 139Q programs and the children of PS 139Q. We need your support to keep our programs alive! Whether you donate your time, or money, or both, you can help make this a great year for our kids. Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated.
